New US headquarters and CEO relocation in San Francisco. US Board of advisors with senior execs from Twilio, Atlassian, Apple. Aggressive North America recruitment plan.
San Francisco, USA. 14th February, 2017 - Having seen exponential growth since its inception, Platform.sh, the second-generation container-based Platform-as-a-Service, announces today the official opening of its USA headquarters and relocation of the CEO in San Francisco; the constitution of a US Advisory board, and an aggressive recruitment plan to help the company scale even faster in the USA. With these actions, the company reinforces its strong commitment to serving the growing demand in North America as well as its ambition to position itself more strongly on the global stage of the new wave of platforms-as-a-service.
Platform.sh is a highly innovative product that offers both “devops-in-a-box” and managed cloud hosting. It extends the concept of Git to the entire infrastructure, which allows live production clusters to be cloned in a matter of seconds. Application developers benefit from simplified development workflows, which can now be managed in a secure and scalable way, leading to huge savings in hosting costs; up to 20 times faster increased developer productivity; 0 downtime - daily deployments, and faster user acceptance testing.
The company, which already generates 40% of its revenues from North America, saw that the time was ripe to open a US headquarters. With the booming growth of Magento Cloud - which leverages the Platform.sh technology - plus a rapidly growing number of major US firms, such as LivePerson and Perfectly Posh, Platform.sh has already built up a dedicated team of 15 members across the USA and Canada, including a dedicated North America support team to cover the various timezones efficiently. To better serve this fast-growing clientele base, Platform.sh is putting in place an aggressive recruitment plan for 2017 as it further expands its US operations. Customers and prospects in North America can expect greater availability of its dedicated customer support and a product roadmap more targeted to serving the specific needs of US customers.
As further testament of the geographic importance to the company’s leadership, one of the Platform.sh co-founders, Fred Plais, CEO, has already relocated and is formally based at the new San Francisco headquarters. The vision and ambition of Platform.sh is backed by a dedicated advisory board in the USA whose members consist of veterans from the technology industry: François Dufour, VP of Global Marketing at Twilio, Eric Wittman, investor and former general manager of developer tools at Atlassian, Ed Colby, most recently SVP at Emotient, previously a venture partner and an executive at Apple, and Fabien Potencier, founder of the Symfony framework and CEO of SensioLabs.
