End-to-End Web Platform Provider Extends Strategic Collaboration with Microsoft to Offer More Choice and Increased Support for Local Markets
Platform.sh, a unified, secure, enterprise-grade platform for building, running and scaling web applications, is pleased to announce the expansion of its services to the Australian market. Adding to its existing AWS resources in the region, Platform.sh’s new AU-2 region enables Australian customers to have complete freedom of choice over the underlying cloud provider they use to support their web platform and related services, enabling them to easily spin up development instances and run production workloads for website fleets on top of Azure.
Building on Platform.sh’s rapid expansion in the US and European markets, today’s announcement marks the next milestone in its long-term relationship with Microsoft’s public cloud computing platform, which also includes support in the North American and European markets.
“Today’s announcement marks a critical step forward in our global expansion plans, as well as our efforts to provide customers with freedom of choice for cloud providers combined with local support,” said Platform.sh Co-founder and CEO Fred Plais. “We’re also excited to now have the ability to work with more Australian customers to show them the power and agility of the Platform.sh web platform.”
Platform.sh provisions environments on Azure on demand and at any scale. The capabilities provided by Platform.sh help organizations deliver complex infrastructure deployments without compromising time to market. They also accelerate growth by automating the setup of environments, while providing visibility into and control over usage.
As part of this initiative, Platform.sh is gradually migrating Australian customers to be billed through Stripe. These changes will be reflected on invoices posted on February 1st.
