We’re sunsetting the Platform.sh 30-day free trial: what this means for you

As part of continuing to improve how developers experience our platform, we’ve made an important change to how trials are offered.

As of 23 August 2025, the Platform.sh free trial will no longer be available for new signups. If you are currently in an active Platform.sh free trial, here's exactly what this means for you and how to take your next step-whether you're continuing your current project, exploring future options, or just getting started.

Why this is happening

We believe in transparency, which is why we're sharing this directly with you. Starting 23 August 2025, all new trial access will take place on Upsun, our next generation cloud application platform. It’s where our trial experience now lives, and where you’ll find the tools and performance improvements we’ve been building toward.

By unifying our trial experience into Upsun we can ensure we provide you with the most optimized journey to experience how our product can solve your organizational challenges.

On 23 September 2025, all access to the Platform.sh trial environments will fully close, including trial-to-paid plan conversions.

What this means if you're currently in an active Platform.sh trial

Here’s a clear breakdown depending on your current trial status:

1. Your trial ends before 23 September

• You can continue using your Platform.sh trial as normal until it ends. 
• You will also have the option to convert it to a paid Platform.sh plan before 23 September.
• If you'd like to continue exploring alongside your current trial, you can also start a new Upsun trial at any time.

2. Your trial ends after 23 September

You can continue using your Platform.sh trial until the end of its 30-day period.
However, it will not be possible to convert it into a paid Platform.sh plan after 23 September. To continue using the platform after that date, we recommend starting an Upsun trial to explore your next steps early.
