E13 Diversity in the tech industry

Minority groups today are, and can feel, underrepresented in communities in the tech industry.

Companies can unintentionally promote exclusionary hiring processes, resulting in a lack of diversity in the way their teams approach problems while developing software.

This can stifle innovation indirectly, all from unconscious biases that discouraged candidates from applying in the first place, which is the opposite of what our communities need.

We need as many people with as many different mindsets as we can get contributing to and take charge of our software projects so that they can continue to thrive.
