The new Platform.sh Swiss public region empowers organizations to meet sustainability, data localization, and compliance requirements in the Zurich Google Cloud region.

Our new public region has been launched in response to increasing demand from Swiss businesses—and those with an international footprint doing business in Switzerland—that need to ensure their data is held locally. A recognized leader in technological innovation and sustainable energy, and a home to many global tech giants, Zurich is the perfect location for our new public region and for any organizations seeking to host in a low-carbon region.

Adding Switzerland as one of our public regions, with its use of low-carbon and renewable energy sources, means Platform.sh now offers greener options in seven regions across five countries. With more businesses required to report their environmental impact under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)—and many more expected to do so by 2026—Platform.sh offers this new region to sustainability-minded clients.

With the Zurich Google Cloud region, it’s now easier than ever to choose a greener option and to choose where your data is stored, ensuring it’s easily accessible. By maintaining a growing number of data locations, Platform.sh enables businesses to comply with data sovereignty laws while efficiently serving their customers’ needs. Expanding our multicloud data location reach into Zurich means Platform.sh customers can deploy globally and comply locally.
